Lenten Soup Lunches

Parishes across East Anglia have organised Lenten Lunches, raising money for CAFOD.

These lunches, offering French Onion, Minestrone, Leek and Potato, Broccoli and Stilton, Spicy Parsnip and Tomato; a mouthwatering selection of home-made soups. They were an excellent occasion to bring people together, share meals, and raise money for CAFOD. Father Charles (St Edmunds) certainly enjoyed his soup.

The parish of the Sacred Heart in North Walsham organised a soup supper, which raised £80 that is being donated directly for the Africa Crisis Appeal.

The church of St. Edmunds, forming part of the Bungay Churches Together, was responsible for two of the lunches during Lent, raising £100.60 for CAFOD. A huge thank you to the volunteers who gave their time to prepare and feed us.

Our Lady and St Thomas in Wymondham organised a Lenten lunch meeting titled ‘Being at the table with Jesus-privilege and cost’ combined with fundraising for CAFOD.

Moreover, a CAFOD group located in the Stowmarket also held a delightful lunchtime session and raised around £100 to support our work.

Thank you all for this wonderful initiative!
