In celebration of the Valentine’s Day, a green hearts craft workshop took place on Saturday 11th of February in the parish of Our Lady, Stowmarket.
This great initiative of Rosemary Muntus aimed at providing a point of discussion concerning the environment, climate change, how these affect our global neighbours, and how renewable energy could help them out of poverty.
Following the words of Pope Francis, who invited us all to have a conversation about how we are shaping the future of our planet, and the CAFOD’s current environmental campaign, the workshop was a great opportunity to show the love to our planet!
Rosemary said: ‘We hope that it will provide a talking point for people to discuss the environment and that it ties in with our study of Laudato Si’ and our LiveSimply campaign.’
A dozen of people of all ages participated in the workshop, creating unique fabric ‘green hearts’ badges, which were later distributed at Sunday Mass to anyone willing to wear them (with an optional donation to CAFOD – final total £35).
