Advent for Africa and Ipswich!

In their Advent for Africa project, year six pupils at St Mary’s Primary School painted pictures showing some of the different ways that CAFOD helps people around the world.

At the heart of their display was a nativity scene, because Jesus was born into the world. He was born in the humble surroundings of a stable, next to the inn.

It is fitting that the children pictured Jesus coming into the world that we are working to help, and in so doing we are participating in the work of Christ; through his grace bringing hope to the world.

We celebrated these activities as we prepared for the coming of Christ in an advent service that the whole school came to at St Mary’s parish church.

The church was packed and the singing was terrific.
