World AIDS Day will take place in the 1st of December and this year the theme is Universal Access and Human Rights, chosen to highlight issues around the protection of human rights and ensuring access to HIV prevention, treatment, care, and support.
HIV and AIDS form one of the biggest threats not just to health but to human development on our planet. Economies are being crippled as adults are cut down in their prime, plunging families into poverty and emptying workplaces. The epidemic reverses development, as poverty increases while access to education, jobs and healthcare goes down. This demands a renewed effort from CAFOD, whose mandate from the Catholic Church is to promote human development and social justice in witness to Gospel values.
Please sign up to the Stop AIDS Campaign action working to help people access the medicines they need.
